Pressure defense starts with an emphasis on guarding the ball, steering the ball and putting it in areas for trapping purposes. The box theory states that the ball is pushed to a side, therefore making the box smaller. The smaller the box, the less area to defend. A major part of this philosophy is creating pressure by playing on the line of the ball. Defending the dribble and playing one pass away are necessary fundamentals in this system. The 2-on-2 sprint to help drill incorporates many of the important teaching points, including high hands and the closeout. Running Time: 88 Minutes. 2006.
